How long does it take to start from scratch to automate for real trading eventually?
Many people think that program trading is difficult to learn because some basic skills, including how to import market data into the program, and how to connect the program to a securities account to automatically place orders, take time to learn and require some IT. However, Algogene already simplified these steps. What matters left is whether the trading strategy you come up with is feasible and profitable.
The timeline can really vary, but if you're starting from scratch, I'd say it typically takes a few weeks to a couple of months to get a basic program up and running. It depends on your familiarity with coding and trading concepts. Good luck!
