This article goes through the steps to connect ALGOGENE with your CoinEx trading account. The overall workflow is summarized in this diagram.

Who is CoinEx?

CoinEx (www.coinex.com) is a global crypto exchange offering a wide range of products and services, including spot trading, futures trading, margin trading, AMM, crypto finance, and strategic trading. It serves more than 4 million users in over 200 countries and regions. In 2022, CoinEx launched the “Merkle Tree” audit method as Proof of Reserve, becoming one of the earliest crypto trading platforms to disclose such proof of reserve.


Client Onboarding on CoinEx

  • Sign up on CoinEx

  • From top right dropdown, go to "Settings"

    Under "ID Verification", click "personal" and follow the instructions to complete ID Verification

Create Sub-account

It is advised to create multiple sub-accounts on CoinEx to manage different trading strategies.

  • From top right dropdown, click "Sub-Account"

  • Click "Create"

  • Click "Add Sub-Account"


  • Set your sub-account name, and enable "API Management" for your sub-account


Create API Key for Sub-account

  • In the left panel, click "Management" under "Sub-Account", then click "API Management" for a sub-account

  • Click "Create API"

  • Under "Create API" section
    • set your API "remark"
    • enable "Trade" permission
    • IP address bind to "223.17.124.76"

  • Get your "Access ID" and "Secret Key"



Config on ALGOGENE

  • Login ALGOGENE portal
  • Go to 'Settings' -> 'Trade Account'
  • Select an ALGOGENE live-test or real-trade account depending on your case

  • Choose "CoinEx" in broker dropdown
  • Update the connection settings as follows:
    • "API Key" -> Your CoinEx's Access ID
    • "Password" -> Your CoinEx's Secret Key

Deploy Algo

After successful connection from above, you are now ready to deploy and trade an Algo with CoinEx.

1. Deploy from a DIY script

  • Under ALGOGENE 'settings', choose your CoinEx linked account

  • deploy any one of your backtested script

2. Deploy from algo marketplace subscription

  • Explore available trading bots from ALGOGENE Marketplace
  • Choose a desired trading bot, click "SUBSCRIBE"
  • Select your desired "Run Mode" and "Account", then click "SUBMIT"
